  1. It kind of amazes me that Rob Zombie is such a big Halloween fan but seemingly doesn’t understand what makes Michael Myers scary. I mean, the guy wears a mask at all times. That right there should tell you that his identity DOESN’T MATTER. He’s not scary because he’s a kid who snapped. He’s scary because he’s a faceless symbol of evil. He is relentless in pursuit of killing. And that is the essence of what makes the character scary. It taps into the fear of inevitable failure; no matter what you do he will keep coming for you and sooner or later he will kill you.
