  1. Nightmares is my favorite “gimmick of the week” episode from the first season. It has so many fun small moments that I really enjoy such as Zander’s “It’s funny if you’re me!” line.

The surface level of most of the nightmares never bothered me as the episode feels much more comedic in its intentions. Also, most of the characters haven’t been extremely fleshed out at this point in the show anyway, especially Cordelia. I kind of grade it on an “early in the show” curve, so it doesn’t get knocked for some things that it might if it had been in a later season. That said, I still thoroughly enjoyed watching it again this time around.

Plus vampire Buffy is great in and of itself, but paying it off at the end with Willow asking Zander if he was still into Buffy as a vamp is brilliant. Early Zander on this show is adorably goofy and insecure.

Very much looking forward to the next episode as I finished off this season the other day. I mostly want to hear your thoughts on Prophecy Girl, which I think is still an excellent finale, despite the tiny budget hampering it a little bit.
